Why Pray?
Prayer IS setting the conditions for supernatural divine intervention into the circumstances of my life, my families' lives, and in the “church” here on earth, just as it is suppose to be in heaven!
Prayer IS communicating my heart's ideas and concerns with The Spiritual Authority that created this wonderful universe for all of mankind!
Prayer IS my FAITH in action, which means that prayer is the substance of things I believe are true and the evidence of things that I KNOW are for my benefit!
Prayer IS what I declare with my mouth, that I believe in my heart, knowing that God can do all things through my obedience to His Word.
Prayer IS hearing what the Spirit of the Lord is saying and confirming His thoughts, instructions, and His attitude towards us through His Word. When a passage of scripture comes to my mind during prayer, that is the Holy Spirit intervening in the conversation of prayer!
Prayer IS my FIRST response and not my last option on any matter!
The model prayer is a good guideline or pattern to follow during our prayer times. You can make this as personal to your situation as you desire.
Here is an example of the model prayer as written in Matthew 6:9-13
My prayer begins with a right relationship – OUR FATHER in Heaven, Hallowed BE Your NAME!
That Name that is above every name – Jehovah the great “I AM”
God promises that when we SEEK FIRST the
I declare with my mouth, and I believe in my heart – THY KINGDOM COME, THY WILL BE DONE!
Lord Jesus, You have a Kingdom; a domain; a creation of splendor, beauty, holiness and security.
Your Lordship rules and reigns in my life TODAY and You are worthy of ALL our Praise!
Blessed Be the Name of the living Lord Jesus!
Bless His Holy Name now and forever!
“Take my life and let it be, consecrated Lord to Thee, Take my moments and my days, let them flow in ceaseless Praise.”
Lord Jesus, we want nothing more, nothing less, nothing else, but Your purpose and directions in our lives this day _{today's date}_
Now Lord we ask – GIVE US THIS DAY, OUR DAILY BREAD!
Feed us on Your Word today, let the Word dwell richly within us. Let us teach and admonish one another with all songs, hymns, and spiritual songs, making melody in our hearts to the Glory of God the Father!
Lord, Your Word is living and active, sharper than any two edged sword. Help us to compare everything we do and say today with Your Word. What would Jesus SAY about this topic? What would Jesus DO when confronted with these events?
Jesus said, “Abide in Me – and I will abide in you” (John 15:4) WE MUST BE LIKE JESUS (Galatians 2:20)
Then with child like FAITH we ask, Lord, forgive us our trash bags, as we forgive those trash bags thrown against us. The Greek translation reads, FORGIVE US OUR TRESPASSES, AS WE FORGIVE THOSE WHO TRESPASS AGAINST US!
Also, it has been written as, FORGIVE US OUR DEBTS, AS WE HAVE FORGIVEN OUR DEBTORS!
We believe that this means that our Lord and Savior has forgiven us of all our sins, and we must now in the same manner FORGIVE those people who have sinned against us.
Lord, have mercy on us, Oh most merciful Father, have mercy on us.
Create in me a clean heart Oh, Lord and RENEW a RIGHT Spirit within me! Lord Jesus, no matter the offense I CHOOSE TO FORGIVE!
Lord, lead us, LEAD US NOT INTO TEMPTATION AND DELIVER US FROM EVIL! Lead us in the paths of righteousness for Your Name’s sake, lead us in green pastures and besides still waters (Psalm 23). Again we declare with our mouths because we believe in our hearts that:
No weapon formed against us will prosper, No word spoken against us will come to pass – in the authority of Jesus’s Name – Amen & Amen.
Holy Spirit of the Living Lord Jesus, prompt us today, because we know that instant obedience is much better than any sacrifice. Let us be quick to hear, and rightly respond to Your presence in our lives.
Lord, Jesus, today is all about YOU! FOR YOURS IS THE KINGDOM, YOURS IS THE POWER, AND YOURS IS THE GLORY FOR EVER AND EVER! Everything that we have comes from You Lord!
It is Your Kingdom and we serve an AWESOME GOD! It is Your Power, the same power that raised Jesus from the dead is in us, and greater is He that is in us, than he that is in this world.
It is Your Glory – All hail the power of Jesus’s name, let angels prostrate fall, bring forth the royal diadem and crown Him Lord of ALL!
Lord we want to bring you Glory, just like Jesus did as it is written in the Gospel of John in the seventeenth chapter where Jesus said in paraphrase that He has brought You Glory Father, by completing the work that You have given Him to do. Now give Your Blessings to those that You have given Me said Jesus.
Lord, prayer is all about the attitude of my heart – I LOVE YOU LORD, I LIFT MY VOICE TO WORSHIP YOU! OH MY SOUL REJOICE!
Thank You Lord for hearing our prayer, we know that You ALWAYS hear our prayers!
This we ask of the Father, believing in the Son, by the power of the Holy Spirit, ONE GOD now and forever more – AMEN & AMEN !
