Ladies and Gentlemen, boys and girls of ALL ages, this is a unique TEXAS holiday for Texans. What is the Emancipation Proclamation and what did it do? Juneteenth specifically celebrates the day in 1865 when Union soldiers arrived in Galveston, Texas, to announce that the Civil War had ended and all remaining enslaved people were FREE, two and a half years after the Emancipation Proclamation.
The Emancipation Proclamation, issued by President Abraham Lincoln on January 1, 1863, declared that all slaves in the Confederate states were to be freed. While it didn't immediately end slavery throughout the entire United States, it was a crucial turning point in the Civil War, transforming the conflict into a fight for human freedom and paving the way for the eventual abolition of slavery. Here's a more detailed explanation:
Limited Scope, Major Impact:
The proclamation applied only to Confederate states still in rebellion against the Union, not to the loyal border states or areas already under Union control.
Symbolic Significance:
Despite its limited reach, the Emancipation Proclamation was a powerful statement that shifted the focus of the Civil War. It made the eradication of slavery a key objective of the Union war effort, alongside preserving the nation.
Military Implications:
It authorized the recruitment of formerly enslaved people into the Union Army and Navy, significantly boosting the Union's manpower and enabling Black soldiers to fight for their own freedom.
International Influence:
The proclamation also aimed to discourage European powers from recognizing or supporting the Confederacy, as it linked the Confederacy's cause to the continuation of slavery.
Path to Abolition:
Although the Emancipation Proclamation did not end slavery completely, it laid the groundwork for the 13th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, which officially abolished slavery nationwide.

WE as Believers in Christ JESUS as the only Son of the Living GOD-Jehovah know as FACTS that Jesus took on ALL of Sins – past present & future and REDEEMED ALL of mankind from the consequences of ALL our sinful acts!
AS IT IS WRITTEN IN Romans 5:1-11 & 15
Therefore, since we have been made Right in God’s sight by Faith, we have Peace with God because of what Jesus Christ our Lord has done for us.
Because of our Faith, Christ has brought us into this place of undeserved privilege where we now stand, and we confidently and joyfully look forward to sharing God’s Glory. We can REJOICE, too, when we run into problems and trials, for we know that they help us develop endurance. And endurance develops strength of character, and character strengthens our confident Hope of Salvation.
And this HOPE will not lead to disappointment. For we know how dearly God Loves us, because he has given us the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with His Love.
When we were utterly helpless, Christ came at just the right time and died for us sinners. Now, most people would not be willing to die for an upright person, though someone might perhaps be willing to die for a person who is especially good.
But God showed His great LOVE for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners. And since we have been made Right in God’s sight by the Blood of Christ, He will certainly save us from God’s condemnation.
For since our Friendship with God was restored by the death of His Son while we were still His enemies, we will certainly be saved through the Life of His Son.
So now we can REJOICE in our wonderful new Relationship with God because our Lord Jesus Christ has made us Friends of God!
So just as sin ruled over ALL people and brought them to death, now God’s wonderful Grace rules instead, giving us Right Standing with God and resulting in Eternal Life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
The death, burial and Resurrection of Jesus Christ was The Turning Point in ALL of human history.
This IS the very FIRST & Best Emancipation Proclamation!
Remember what JESUS Says in John 8:34-36
I tell you The TRUTH, everyone who sins is a slave of sin. A slave is not a permanent member of the family, but a son is part of the family FOREVER! So if The Son sets you FREE, you are truly FREE INDEED!
