Ladies and Gentlemen, boys and girls of ALL ages, have you ever heard the phrase – Silence is Golden? We sometimes counter this thought with the phrase – NOT to speak is to speak! Let us discuss and read what scriptures tell us about the Power of the tongue!
AS IT IS WRITTEN IN James 3:2-10
Indeed, we all make many mistakes. For if we could control our tongues, we would be perfect and could also control ourselves in every other way.
We can make a large horse go wherever we want by means of a small bit in its mouth.
And a small rudder makes a huge ship turn wherever the pilot chooses to go, even though the winds are strong.
In the same way, the tongue is a small thing that makes grand speeches. But a tiny spark can set a great forest on fire. and the tongue is a flame of fire. It is a whole world of wickedness, corrupting your entire body. It can set your whole life on fire, for it is set on fire by hell itself People can tame all kinds of animals, birds, reptiles, and fish, but no one can tame the tongue. It is restless and evil, full of deadly poison.
Sometimes it (my tongue) Praises our Lord and Father-God, and sometimes it curses those who have been made in the Image of God.
So, Blessing and cursing come pouring out of the same mouth? Surely, my Brothers and Sisters, this is not right!
Dear ones, here is what the Book of Wisdom teaches us about the tongue:
A man’s stomach will be satisfied with the fruit of his mouth;
He will be satisfied with the consequences of his words.
Death and LIFE are in the Power of the Tongue, and those who love it and indulge in it will eat its fruit and bear the consequences of their words.
The tongue of the wise speaks knowledge that is pleasing and acceptable,
But the [babbling] mouth of fools’ spouts folly.
The Eyes of the LORD are in every place,
Watching the evil and the good [in all their endeavors].
A soothing tongue [speaking words that build up and encourage] is a Tree of Life, but a perversive tongue [speaking words that overwhelm and depress] crushes the Spirit.
WE HAVE THIS CHOICE on how we use our tongue TODAY! Speaking Blessings or telling LIES with contradictions to The Truth of God’s Word!
The Apostle Paul quotes the Prophet Isaiah in his letter to the Romans
For Christ died and lived again for this reason, that He might be Lord of both the dead and the living. But you, why do you criticize your brother? Or you again, why do you look down on your [believing] brother or regard him with contempt? For we will all stand before the judgment seat of God [who alone is judge].
For it is written [in Scripture],
AS I LIVE, SAYS THE LORD, EVERY KNEE SHALL BOW TO ME,
AND EVERY TONGUE SHALL GIVE PRAISE TO GOD. Isaiah 45:23
So then, each of us will give an account of himself to God.
Then let us not criticize one another anymore, but rather determine this—not to put an obstacle or a stumbling block or a source of temptation in another believer’s way.

Open my lips and my mouth will show forth Your Praise!
Let the Redeemed of the LORD SAY SO!
Believe in your heart and confess with your mouth that JESUS – The Christ – The Son of the Living God-Jehovah IS LORD and you shall BE SAVED!
