Ladies and Gentlemen, boys and girls of ALL ages, one of the BEST explanations of what Jesus said from the Cross!

A lot of Christians do not know about these Words said on the cross before He died.
Jesus cried out – IT IS FINISHED which is translated from the Greek word – TETELESTAI [LINKED by double-click]
This Word was used in a business context on ancient receipts and in the New Testament Bible times to indicate that a literal DEBT had been PAID IN FULL!
This word was also used in a Judicial context, in a court when a sentence (time spent in prison) had been fully Served. Not particularly Served nor kind of Served, but completely and fully once and for all time SERVED!
This word TETELESTAI was also used in a military context meaning that a battle had been WON as a Triumph and complete Victory!
When JESUS hangs on the Cross and declares – IT IS FINISHED – He was Declaring that the DEBT of our sins have been FULLY PAID!
The Judgement for your sins has been FULLY SERVED!
The Spiritual War against Death & Sin & Satan & the Grave has been completely WON through Christ – The Work of Salvation & Victory & Reconciliation and a NEW LIFE is FULLY MINE!
IT IS FINISHED!
Dear ones, the prelude to these events is written in John 18:29-38
So Pilate came out to them and asked, What accusation do you bring against this Man? They answered, If He were not a criminal, we would not have handed Him over to you [for judgment]. Then Pilate said to them, Take Him yourselves and judge Him according to your own law.
The Jews said, we are not permitted to put anyone to death. This was to fulfill the word which Jesus had spoken to indicate by what manner of death He was going to die.
So Pilate went into the Praetorium again, and called Jesus and asked Him, Are You the King of the Jews?
Jesus replied, Are you saying this on your own initiative, or did others tell you about Me?
Pilate answered, I am not a Jew, am I? Your own people and their chief priests have handed You over to me. What have You done [that is worthy of death]?
Jesus replied, My Kingdom is not of this world [nor does it have its origin in this world]. If My Kingdom were of this world, My servants would be fighting [hard] to keep Me from being handed over to the Jews; but as it is, My Kingdom is not of this world.
So Pilate said to Him, Then You are a King?
Jesus answered, You say [correctly] that I AM a King. This is why I was born, and for this I have come into the world, to testify to the Truth. Everyone who is of the Truth [who is a friend of the Truth and belongs to the Truth] hears and listens carefully to My Voice.
Pilate said to Him [scornfully], What is Truth?
And when he had said this, he went out to the Jews again and told them, I find no guilt in Him [no crime, no cause for an accusation].
JESUS SAYS for this Purpose He can into this world to SAVE Sinners and make a WAY where there was NO Way for us to have a relationship with God. He IS a Perfect Man, who led a Perfect Life of obedience to our Heavenly Father, suffered a cruel death – and on the third day He ROSE AGAIN so ALL the world would know His Resurrection Power! That same Power is in each and every one of us who DIE to Self and LIVE for Christ!
So we are Ambassadors for Christ, as though God were making His appeal through us; we [as Christ’s Representatives] plead with you on behalf of Christ to BE RECONCILED to God. He-Yahweh made Christ who knew no sin to [judicially] be sin on our behalf, so that IN Him we would become the Righteousness of God [that is, we would be made acceptable to Him and placed in a Right Relationship with Him by His Gracious Loving Kindness].
Thanks BE to GOD who gives us the VICTORY through our LORD & SAVIOR – Christ JESUS!
