Ladies and Gentlemen, boys and girls of all ages, and just like that – Christmas is over – I think NOT! There are 12 days of Christmas from now until Epiphany Sunday on the Roman Catholic calendar. We sometimes are in such a hurry to GET TO things that we may not ENJOY the Journey! We have portrayed the “three wise men” as being there in the stable on the night that Christ was born. Actually, the scriptures tell us in Matthew 2:9-11

When they heard the king-Herod, they departed; and behold, the Star which they had seen in the East went before them, till it came and stood over where the young Child was.

When they saw the Star, they REJOICED with exceedingly great JOY!

And when they had come into the house, (not a stable) they saw the young Child with Mary His mother and fell down and worshiped Him. And when they had opened their treasures, they presented gifts to Him: gold, frankincense, and myrrh.

We came imagine that there was a whole entourage with these wise men from the east!  We have assumed only 3 kings, because of the 3 gifts mentioned. They must have had slaves and camels carrying tents and supplies and maybe more than just token gifts for such a long journey. These wise men were sent by Almighty God to prepare His Son and our Savior for a trip to Egypt and avoid Herod’s slaughter of the innocent male children. God warns these wise men to NOT go back to Herod’s palace.

Perhaps we all would be like these wise men and follow God’s leading by signs wonders and miracles. Even in our dreams we should heed His Warnings & His Guidance and ACCEPT His Invitation to Worship KING JESUS!
