Ladies and Gentlemen, boys and girls of all ages, there is an eager anticipation that is associated with this holiday season. For most of the year we engage in a daily routine that sets a pattern of living our lives.  During this Advent Season we make an extra effort to ENJOY certain events in our lives.  Some of you may remember this simple children’s song:

Christmas is coming the goose is getting fat, try and put a penny in the old man’s hat!  If you haven’t got a penny and hay-penny will do!  If you haven’t a hay-penny, then God Bless you!

People everywhere are making plans to give their very BEST!  Some are preparing wonderful meals!  Some are making gifts!  Some are performing their talents, like that little drummer boy who says:

So to Honor Him, when we come pa rum pum pum pum   

I’ll play my BEST for Him, me and my drum!

Even a child knows the ultimate source of pure JOY is doing my very BEST, no matter what that talent is and no matter what my drum may be, we should always DO IT ALL as unto the Lord our God!

Heavenly Father, our prayer of agreement for today is that WE would DO OUR BEST for YOU! 

We want to be pleasing in ALL that we say and we want to be Christ-Like in ALL that we DO this day!  Amen and Amen! 

And the Holy Spirit descended in bodily form like a dove upon Him, and a Voice came from Heaven which said, 

You are My beloved Son; in You I AM well Pleased. [Luke 3:22]

As the last line of that song states our hearts desire is to receive just a smile of approval from our Heavenly Father:   

Then He smiled at me, pa rum pum pum pum me and my drum.

Make it so dear Lord, make it so!

Now to the LORD sing Praises ALL you who are in this place

And with True Love and Brotherhood each other now embrace
