Ladies and Gentlemen, boys and girls, once again, I am overwhelmed by a short video on FaceBook that has lifted my Spirit with the absolute TRUTH of God’s Word!

The Last Supper is way more significant and beautiful than you may think.

In Jewish times when a man wanted to marry a woman, he and his father would travel to the girl’s house and sit down with her and her father and they would start negotiating a price for the bride. To put this in perspective the bride’s price back then would have been the price of a house right now.

IF they agreed on a price the father would hand the son a CUP of WINE and the son would look at the girl as he OFFERS the CUP to her and he says:

I offer you this CUP! What he is saying is I GIVE you my LIFE! Will you Marry me?

She now has the choice to say YES or NO!  IF she says YES as she lifts up the Cup and drinks of it,

She’s saying I ACCEPT your LIFE and I give you mine as well!

So when JESUS holds The CUP up during the Last Supper – He says:

This is the CUP of the New Covenant in My Blood which is poured out for you, drink of IT all of you!

He’s saying I LOVE YOU ALL – WILL YOU MARRY ME?

I’m giving you My Life – Will you give Me yours as well?

Now WE have a choice to make – WE can drink of The CUP or we don’t have to!

But as we drink The CUP – we say JESUS, I accept your Life that you laid down for me and I give you mine!

The PRICE that Jesus PAID on the Cross for you and for me, is so significant that He literally sweat Blood in the Garden of Gethsemane saying:

LORD, take this CUP from Me – nevertheless NOT My Will but THY WILL be DONE!

Yet He went to the Cross and He laid down His Life for you and for me!

The Cup of Blessing which we Bless, is it not the Communion of the Blood of Christ? The bread which we Break, is it not the Communion of the Body of Christ?

For we, though many, we are ONE Bread and ONE Body; for we ALL partake of that ONE BREAD [of Life that is JESUS]!

Jesus Institutes the Lord’s Supper

And as they were eating, Jesus took bread, Blessed and broke it, and gave it to the disciples and said,

Take, eat; this is My Body.

Then He took The Cup, and gave Thanks, and gave it to them, saying,

Drink from it, all of you. For this is My Blood of the New Covenant, which is shed for many for the remission of sins. But I say to you, I will not drink of this fruit of the vine from now on until that day when I drink it new with you in My Father’s Kingdom.

Do This in remembrance of Me!  1Corinthians 11:23-26

For I received from the Lord that which I also delivered to you: that the Lord Jesus on the same night in which He was betrayed took bread; and when He had given Thanks, He broke it and said,

Take, eat; this is My Body which is broken for you; do this in remembrance of Me.

In the same manner He also took The Cup after supper, saying,

This Cup is the new covenant in My Blood. This do, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of Me.

For as often as you eat this Bread and drink this CUP, you proclaim the Lord’s death till He comes – AGAIN!
