Then Jesus came to them and said,”All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to Me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”   Matthew 28:18-20

When the people heard this, they were cut to the heart and said to Peter and the other apostles, "Brothers, what shall we do?"  Peter replied, "Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the Name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.  The promise is for you and your children and for all who are far off-for all whom the Lord our God will call."

Those who accepted his message were baptized, and about three thousand were added to their number that day. They devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer.

Everyone was filled with awe, and many wonders and miraculous signs were done by the apostles.   Acts 2:37-42

Ladies and Gentlemen, Jesus says to GO and make disciples of all nations!”  Peter obeyed and went to Jerusalem and preached a great sermon under the influence of the Holy Spirit of the Living God, and 3,000 men and their families joined the “church” in one day. What happened next is the pattern that we should follow today in pouring our lives into relationships that will matter for all of eternity. They devoted themselves to 1) the apostles’ teachings and to the 2) fellowship, to the 3) breaking of bread and 4) to prayer.

Jesus spent three incredibly intense years dedicated to investing His Life into the lives of 12 men and a few women that would change this world forever! Not just on the Sabbath day, but everyday Jesus was daily in the temple teaching. Every day the early church members would meet house to house and share what they had and to fellowship with one another, building relationships based on the knowledge of Who Christ IS and how Jesus had conquered sin, death, and the spiritual enemies of this world. They all had communion with God through prayer, worship, and giving thanks!

Heavenly Father, we earnestly pray that You will Call men and women today that are in Your Church to obey Your Voice and make disciples of all peoples in all nations!  We have many believers, but not as many disciples. People who will testify about Your Goodness and Your Mercies and how You have delivered us all from satan’s power when we have gone astray.

Lord Jesus, we want to be pleasing in Your Sight. We know that we cannot give what is not within us. Show us the local churches that proclaim the apostle’s teaching according to Your Word. Let us have fellowship, one with another, who know that the Grace of God is given to demonstrate the Power of God in our lives – daily and not just on Sundays for two hours. Lead us to a people that understands the importance of prayer – constant communion with Christ Jesus our Lord, our Savior, our Redeemer.

Oh Dear Lord, three things I pray:

To SEE Thee more clearly – to FOLLOW Thee more nearly

LOVE Thee more dearly – DAY by DAY

Amen and Amen!
