Let us focus our prayers today on “What would Jesus say . . . .?”

Jesus was and is very direct in His approach to helping people! The Pharisees of His time on earth were “astonished by the wisdom of His teachings and these mighty works”  Matthew 13:54

Ladies and Gentlemen, whenever people confront you about your core values and beliefs, please do not apologize, nor give them an excuse for what you believe in your heart. It has been said that people that will not stand for what they believe, will fall for anything!  Now is NOT the time to accept criticisms for proclaiming your opinion, your beliefs, your understanding of pending legislation, and your concerns about the future of our government controls over our very lives.

We should all have the same kind of close personal relationship that Jesus has with our Heavenly Father, when He says, ”Do you not believe that I am in the Father, and the Father is in Me? The words that I speak to you I do not speak on My own authority; but the Father who dwells in Me does the works”.    John 14:10

”And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever-- the Spirit of Truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you.

I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you. A little while longer and the world will see Me no more, but you will see Me. Because I live, you will live also. At that day you will know that I am in My Father, and that you are in Me, and I am in you.’   John 14:16-20

Heavenly Father, we pray that You would help us to:

Set our mind on things above, not on things on the earth. For you have died {to fleshly things}, and your life is hidden {or redeemed from all sins} with Christ in God. When Christ who is our life appears, then you also will appear with Him in Glory. Therefore put to death your members which are on the earth: fornication, uncleanness, lustful passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry {all sin is idolatry = putting anything before the worship of God Almighty}. Because of these things the wrath of God is coming upon the sons of disobedience, in which you yourselves once walked when you lived in them. But now you, yourselves are to put off all these: anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy language out of your mouth.  Do not lie to one another, since you have put off the old {nature of} man with his deeds, and have put on the new man who is renewed in knowledge according to the image of Him who created him, where there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcised nor uncircumcised, barbarian, Scythian, slave nor free, rich nor poor, Democrat nor Republican, Independent nor Libertarian, but Christ is all and in all.

Therefore, as the elect {chosen} of God, holy and beloved, put on tender mercies, kindness, humility, meekness, longsuffering; bearing with one another, and forgiving one another, if anyone has a complaint against another; even as Christ forgave you, so you also must do.

But above all these things put on {His kind of} Love, which is the bond of perfection. And let the Peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body; and be thankful. Let the Word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.    Colossians 3:2-17

Amen and Amen!
