Why do we sometimes find ourselves arguing with God?

Moses did it! He said that he was slow of speech and slow of tongue – Exodus 4:10

Peter did it! He said that he was an expert fisherman, that he had fished all night and caught nothing – Luke 5:5

Even the virgin Mary did it!  She questioned the Angel of the Lord Gabriel and asked “How can this be?” – Luke 1:34

Moses said to God, send someone else to do this job!  Peter said to Jesus, You have no idea what You are talking about!  Mary said that she knew what God’s messenger told her could not possible be true!  Almighty God still used Moses to deliver His People out of bondage and slavery in Egypt. Peter received his net breaking, boat sinking miracle and gave up his profession to become a follower of Christ.  Mary was overshadowed by the Holy Spirit and gave birth to Immanuel – God among us!

Heavenly Father, all three of these witnesses obeyed Your Word!  They all had reasons and excuses not to believe what was happening when they were directly confronted by Your Presence and Your Word.  Lord Jesus, we pray today for the “courage” of Moses and the “enthusiasm” of Peter and the absolute “trust” of Mary as we say in agreement – Be it unto me according to Your Word!  Amen and Amen!

The scriptural reference for Today’s Prayer Alert is    John 1:1-5 & 14

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.  He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was created. In Him was Life, and this Life was the Light of men.  And the Light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it.

And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His Glory, the Glory as of the only begotten Son of the Father, full of Grace and Truth.

Ladies and Gentlemen, Jesus Christ left His Throne in the Glory of Heaven; took on all the limitations of our flesh; became one of us; shows us how to live a life in true obedience and constant prayer that produces a right relationship with our Heavenly Father; demonstrated the Power of God through healing, deliverance, provision, and taught daily in the temple about the important matters of life; paid the ultimate price for my full redemption with His own death on a cruel cross; He was supernaturally raised from death; walked, talked, ate, and taught among us for forty days after His Resurrection; and He is now seated at the Right Hand {position of all Authority} of the Throne of Grace – ever living to make intercessions for us!

But Peter and the other apostles answered and said: "We ought to obey God rather than men.

Ladies and Gentlemen, it is time that we as Christians make a stand for the things of God!  How will anyone know that we are Ambassadors for Christ, if we do not SAY anything about Him?  How will anyone SEE signs and wonders, unless we pray in agreement?

Lord Jesus, HEAL OUR LAND we pray!   Amen and Amen!
