Jesus taught His Disciples to pray for the Peace of Jerusalem. Today’s news headlines seem to indicate that world opinion is turning against Israel. Our own President and Secretary of State have been less that honorable towards Israel’s Prime Minister while at the same time encouraging Israel’s enemies to take advantage of the situation. These news reports seem to be in line with what the Bible says would happen in the times just prior to the coming of our Lord.

Father God, we pray today for the Peace of Jerusalem! The enemies of Israel are on every side. Threats are being made constantly and violence is happening throughout the land that You set apart when You walked on this earth. We pray for Your Divine Protection to cover the descendants of Abraham with whom You have made an Eternal Covenant and have made the promise to ‘Bless those people who will Bless the people of the nation of Israel’. Amen and Amen!

The scriptural reference for Today’s Prayer Alert is  Genesis 12:1-3  Genesis 17:1-8

Now the LORD had said to Abram: "Get out of your {current} country, and {away} from your family and from your father's house, and go to a land that I will show you. I will make you a great nation; I will bless you and make your name great; And you shall be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you, and I will curse him who curses you; And in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed."

When Abram was ninety-nine years old, the LORD appeared to Abram and said to him, "I am Almighty God; walk before Me and be blameless. And I will make My Covenant between Me and you, and will multiply you exceedingly.”

No longer shall your name be called Abram, but your name shall be Abraham; for I have made you a father of many nations. I will make you exceedingly fruitful; and I will make nations of you, and kings shall come from you. And I will establish My Covenant between Me and you and your descendants after you in their generations, for an everlasting covenant, to be God to you and your descendants after you. Also I give to you and your descendants after you the land in which you are a stranger, all the land of Canaan, as an everlasting possession; and I will be their God."

Ladies and Gentlemen, we have got to understand that the Promises of God are FOREVER! Everything that God says He will DO, shall BE DONE or has already been accomplished! This is God’s Creation – we are His People, a royal priesthood of believers, a Holy nation. There will always be a remnant of faithful people that trust the Lord our God.

Abraham believed God, and it was reckoned to him as Righteousness!

God made a Covenant Commitment to a man whose family members have been blessed for generations upon generations. We can all participate in the Blessings of Abraham by trusting as Abraham did, because we now have a new covenant with God’s only Son – Christ Jesus our Lord!

Lord Jesus, we love the people of Israel that love You, and know You and trust in You! We are all brothers and sisters IN CHRIST. May Your Blessing be upon our children and our children’s children even to the third and fourth generations.

Amen and Amen!
