Recently the Holy Spirit brought to my mind the story of Samson. Samson was a man endowed with supernatural strength because he lived in obedience to the vow that he had made to God. When that vow was broken, his strength left him, but Samson did not know his strength had gone. Imagine your own personal strength might be gone because you disobeyed what the Lord our God said to do.

Father God, we are aware of Your Presence through the Power of the Holy Spirit of the Living Lord Jesus. We know that You are arranging circumstances and situations that will be for our benefit. We pray that we will be instantly obedient to what is revealed to us through Your Word and by Your Spirit. We pray that we can embrace those Divine Appointments that engage us today, trusting in You Lord, with all of our heart, all of our soul, and all of might. Amen and Amen!

The scriptural reference for Today’s Prayer Alert is   Judges 16:17-20

And it came to pass, when she {Delilah} pestered him {Samson} daily with her words and pressed him, so that his soul was vexed to death, that he told her all his heart, and said to her, "No razor has ever come upon my head, for I have been a Nazirite to God from my mother's womb. If I am shaven, then my strength will leave me, and I shall become weak, and be like any other man." When Delilah saw that he had told her all his heart, she sent and called for the lords of the Philistines, saying, "Come up once more, for he has told me all his heart." So the lords of the Philistines came up to her and brought the money in their hand. Then she lulled him to sleep on her knees, and called for a man and had him shave off the seven locks of his head. Then she began to torment him, and his strength left him.

And she said, "The Philistines are upon you, Samson!" So he awoke from his sleep, and said, "I will go out as before, at other times, and shake myself free!"  But he did not know that the LORD had departed from him.

Ladies and Gentlemen, some of the people in this world really do want to know what IS the secret to our strength. However, others may want to exploit our gifts and try to sell them as supernatural acts. We must be ready to give an account of our “relationship” with Son of God that has been raised from the dead, and Him only will we serve. When we put anything before our commitments to God, we have participated in idolatry and have disobeyed Him and sinned. Even though this evidence of Samson’s second chance was God Almighty giving Samson supernatural strength “one more time” to destroy the pagan celebration; we would rather just abide in His Presence as Jesus told us to do in the Gospel of John the fifteenth chapter.

If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you. By this My Father is Glorified, that you bear much fruit; so you will be My Disciples.

As the Father loved Me, I also have loved you; abide in My Love. If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My love, just as I have kept My Father's commandments and abide in His Love.

Amen and Amen!
