Many of us listened to President Barrack Obama’s “State of the Union” speech last week. We may have wanted to hear him say something about his desire TO DO the Will of God for the people of America. Instead, what we heard was a purely political attempt to justify his actions and his decisions that have been made over the past year that he has been in office. His voice seemed anger and without hope. I cannot ever remember any American President ever speaking in this derogatory manner to the people that he supposedly serves. These things ought NOT to be so!

Heavenly Father, we humbly ask for Your Forgiveness and Your Mercy towards us!  No one is wise enough to lead us out of these national dilemmas that we currently face. We need a man of God to represent the People of God that knows how to pray. We need a leader that will seek first the Kingdom of God and the Divine Purposes of Almighty God to call this nation to a time of prayer and fasting. We all need to turn from our wicked ways, so that You Lord can HEAL OUR LAND!  Amen and Amen!

The scriptural reference for Today’s Prayer Alert is  Proverbs 21:2-8

All of a man's ways seem right to him, but the Lord weighs the heart. To do what is right and just is more acceptable to the Lord than sacrifice. Haughty eyes and a proud heart, the directional lamp of the wicked, are sin! The plans of the diligent lead to profit as surely as haste leads to poverty. A fortune made by a lying tongue is a fleeting vapor of smoke and a deadly snare trap from which there is no escape. The violence of the wicked will drag them away, for they refuse to do what is right. The way of the guilty is devious, but the conduct of the innocent is upright.

Ladies and Gentlemen, there has always been a stark contrast between what is “good” and “righteous” on one side, and what is “evil” and “deceptive” on the other side. Light and darkness – Truth proclaimed and a lie or falsehood spoken.  In our heart of hearts, we know when a person is trying to deceive us. We know when someone is not being truthful with us. Our children may say one thing, but their actions reveal the opposite intent of their words.

President Barrack Obama is speaking at the Prayer Breakfast in Washington DC today. It is our sincere prayer that the Lord God Almighty will intervene in the life of this man, just as the Lord intervened in the life of Saul of Tarsus on the road to Damascus (Acts 9:1-31). What a witness to the entire Muslim world it would be, if President Obama would proclaim Jesus Christ is the Son of God!

Make it so dear Lord, make it so!
