Do you have a covenant commitment with Almighty God?

WHY DO WE PRAY?  What is the purpose in asking God to be involved in my life?

Why is it that we profess FAITH in God that ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE and yet we try and tell Almighty God exactly what He should do in these situations we present to Him?

As an earthly father of some really great children, which requests would get my attention:

Hey Dad, as long as you are giving mom some monies, I want $5,000.00 to put as down payment on a new car! By the way, I need you to co-sign the note at the bank as well – today!

Father of mine, I know that you love me! I have worked two jobs while going to school and I have saved up $3,000.00 for a down payment on a car. I would like a new one, but a good used one would work for me. I need your help to select a quality car. I am willing to pay my own insurance payments out of my monthly income. Would you consider helping me with a few dollars more to make a car a reality in my life?  Thanks Dad for helping me your child!

This concept is exactly the same with the Lord our God!  What do we bring to the relationship?  What offerings do we contribute to His Kingdom?  Are we obedient to His Word?  Have we kept our part of the covenant relationship with Him?  If we have a TRUE COVENANT relationship with Christ Jesus as Lord of our lives, then we know that our obedience is better than any sacrifice that we could offer!

We know our position in the relationship is one of an heir, a child of a Loving Father who knows our needs before we ask.  I have the terms of this covenant relationship and I should remind myself daily that Jesus has already done His part and all of Heaven is now waiting for me TO DO and TO SAY my part of the relationship. I do not pray to have a relationship with Jesus Christ, I have a close personal relationship with Jesus as Lord of my life, because I pray!  I know whose I am and who I AM in Christ!

Prayer IS setting the conditions for supernatural divine intervention into the circumstances of my life, my families' lives, and in the “church” here on earth, just as it is to be in Heaven!  Matthew 6:10

Prayer IS communicating my heart's ideas and concerns with The Spiritual Authority that created this wonderful universe for all of mankind!  Matthew 28:18

Prayer IS my FAITH in action, which means that prayer is the substance of things I BELIEVE are true and the evidence of things that I KNOW are for my benefit!  Hebrews 11:1

Prayer IS what I declare with my mouth, that I believe in my heart, knowing that God can do all things through my obedience to His Word. Romans 10:9 & Romans 5:1-21

Prayer IS hearing what the Spirit of the Lord is saying and confirming His thoughts, instructions, and His attitude towards us through His written Word. When a passage of scripture comes to my mind during prayer, that is the Holy Spirit intervening in the conversations of my prayer!  John 16:13

Prayer IS my FIRST response and not my last resort on any matter, all circumstances or any situation that is in my life right now!  Help me Lord Jesus to SAY what You would say and TO DO exactly what You would do!

Amen and Amen!
