We have witnessed nations from all over the world that are generously responding to the needs of the people in Haiti. One of the many examples is the Israeli Army established a field hospital that can serve up to 500 people a day. Their crew consists of 220 rescue workers, including 40 military doctors and 44 nurses and technical personnel.

Heavenly Father, we thank You for the nations who have responded so generously to the physical and material needs of this impoverish country. These are the people of God, moved by the Spirit of the Living Lord Jesus, being that ‘Good Samaritan’ to the battered, bruised, and broken people of Haiti. Lord Jesus, we pray that Your Peace that surpasses all of our understanding would cover and protect the people that are now in the country of Haiti.  Amen and Amen!

The scriptural reference for Today’s Prayer Alert is  Luke 10:33-37

But a Samaritan, as he traveled, came where the man was; and when he saw him, he had compassion for him.  He went to him and bandaged his wounds, pouring on oil and wine. Then he put the man on his own donkey, took him to an inn and took care of him.  The next day he took out two silver coins and gave them to the innkeeper. 'Look after him,' he said, 'and when I return, I will reimburse you for any extra expense you may have.' "Which of these three do you think was a neighbor to the man who fell into the hands of robbers?"

The expert in the law replied, "The one who had mercy on him." Jesus told him, "Go and do likewise."

Ladies and Gentlemen, in this world there is nothing to be gained politically by sending massive aid to the people of Haiti. This nation has no natural resources, no economic power, no silver, no gold in their island nation. So we ask ourselves why are the Canadians, the Swedes, the Chinese, the French and the Israeli Army all participating in this global event?

My way of thinking, this is the People of God, moved by the Spirit of God to have compassion on a part of the Body of Christ that has suffered a tremendous wound. Thousands of tons of food, water, medical supplies, and trained people to minister to the needs of a nation that can never repay any of these efforts. This must be a ‘God thing’ because with God ALL THINGS are POSSIBLE!

Praise God from whom ALL BLESSINGS flow; Praise Him all creatures here below; Praise Him above ye heavenly hosts; Praise Father – Son and Holy Ghost !!!

Amen and Amen!
