Ladies and Gentlemen, why have we stopped LOOKING TO JESUS!

When Peter and the disciples were in a storm, in a small boat, and were full of fear, Peter saw Jesus coming towards them and by FAITH asked a question – “Lord, if that is really YOU, bid me to come to YOU!” In today’s translation – “Lord Jesus, I want TO DO exactly what YOU are doing! May I walk in the supernatural as You are walking?”  As long as Peter kept his eyes on Jesus, he overcame his fears, acted in faith, and DID the same incredible things that Jesus was doing!  As soon as we take our eyes off of Jesus and SEE only the storm of controversy, listen to violent rhetoric, and think about the other people still in the boat suffering, we will trust ourselves and will sink into the sea of our fears. The GOOD NEWS is that Almighty God in the form of Christ Jesus our Lord WILL STRETCH FORTH HIS HAND and rescue us from all our fears!  Matthew 14:24-32

Heavenly Father, You are so incredibly GOOD to us!  We have Your Written Word in the Bible!  We have “evidence” every DAY of Your Mercies, Your Truth, and Your Great Grace in our lives.  As a good friend of mine in west Texas says, “Remind myself to lean into Jesus”!  I want to be close enough to Jesus that I can press my chest to His Chest and have His Arms wrap around my shoulders. In that place, all of the cares and concerns of this world grow strangely dim and my fears, all my fears are covered by His Peace!  Amen and Amen!

The scriptural reference for Today’s Prayer Alert is  Luke 6:35-38

But love your enemies, do good, and lend, hoping for nothing in return; and your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High.  For He {Jesus} is kind to the unthankful and evil people, even those that hate Him.

Therefore be merciful, just as your Father also is merciful. If you Judge not, and you shall not be judged; if you Condemn not, and you shall not be condemned. When you Forgive, and you will be Forgiven. Whenever you Give, and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be put into your bosom. For with the same measure that you use, it will be measured back to you.

Be exactly like Jesus in everything we SAY and everything that we DO!

Amen and Amen!
