Ladies and Gentlemen, in the beginning of America there were only two Religious Holidays – Christmas and Independence Day (July 4th 1776)

Celebrations of the Fourth of July became more common as the years went on and in 1870, almost a hundred years after the Declaration was written, Congress first declared July 4 to be a national holiday as part of a bill to officially recognize several holidays, including Christmas. Further legislation about national holidays, including July 4, was passed in 1939 and 1941.

Christmas because of the Birth of our LORD and Savior Jesus Christ when we were set FREE from the bondage of sin and death!

Independence Day because of the Birth of our Nation when we were set FREE from the bondage of oppression, injustice and taxation without representation.

Jesus answered them,

Most assuredly, I say to you, whoever commits sin is a slave of sin.

And a slave does not abide in the house forever, but a son abides forever.

Therefore, if the Son makes you free, you shall be FREE indeed!

John 8:34-36

.

Dear ones, our FREEDOM is a very precious concept. Jesus has conquered both sin and the consequences of our sins, which is death and given us Life Eternal with Him.

Our founding fathers sought the LORD in prayer and agreed with God’s Word to established His Covenant relationship with America for the entire world.

.

Holy Spirit of the Living LORD, we PRAY in agreement with Your Word in the Declaration of Independence:

We hold these truths to be self-evident that ALL men are created equal and are endowed by their Creator with certain inalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness!

LORD, we are a people who are no longer slaves to sin! We have been Redeemed by the Blood of the Lamb of God! We are in a daily pursuit of a closer walk with Thee LORD!  Randy Travis sings!

Only You LORD, can HEAL our LAND!

Amen and Amen!
