Ladies and Gentlemen, we want to profile a singer songwriter of the Gospel Message of Jesus Christ!

Keith Gordon Green (October 21, 1953 – July 28, 1982)

was an American contemporary Christian music pianist, singer, and songwriter originally from Sheepshead Bay, Brooklyn, New York. Beyond his music, Green is best known for his strong devotion to Christian evangelism and challenging others to the same. He wrote some notable songs, including "Your Love Broke Through", "You Put This Love in My Heart", and "Asleep in the Light". He is also known for numerous popular modern hymns, including this LINK = Oh Lord, You're Beautiful

Keith Green says =

I wrote a letter to the LORD. I didn’t know where to mail it, so I put it in my Bible.

I asked Him to do something about my heart!  A lot of time has gone by since I met Him. My heart has kind of hardened up – sort of naturally. I want to have baby skin again on my heart! It starting to get old and wrinkled and calloused.

This is not because of anything that I am doing – it’s because of a lot of things I’m NOT doing!  So, I wrote this song to You LORD:

Oh Lord, You're beautiful - Your Face is all I seek

For when your eyes are on this child

Your GRACE abounds to me!

 

Oh Lord, my body’s tired - But You keep reminding me

Of many Holy tireless men - Who spilt their blood for Thee

I wanna take Your Word and shine it all around

But first help me just to live it Lord

And when I'm doing well help me to never seek a crown

For my reward is giving Glory to You.

 

Oh Lord please light the fire - That once burned bright and clear

Replace the lamp of my first love - That shines with Holy fear
