Ladies and Gentlemen, let us research the word – Mercy in my Bible!

Be merciful to me, Oh God, be merciful to me!
For my soul trusts in You;
And in the shadow of Your wings I will make my refuge,
Until these calamities have passed by.

I will cry out to God Most High,
To God who performs all things for me.

Psalm 57:1-2

.

Then I called upon the Name of the LORD:
Oh LORD, I implore You, deliver my soul!

Gracious is the LORD, and Righteous;
Yes, our God is Merciful.

Psalm 116:4-5

.

There are many examples of MERCY in my Bible, like the woman who was caught in the act of adultery – Jesus was the only one who could have “cast a stone” and He did not! Peter after he had denied knowing Christ and Jesus asks him to “Feed my sheep”!

A most incredible exhibition of God’s MERCY is recorded in the Book of Jeremiah:

He says: Behold, the days are coming, says the LORD, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah, not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day when I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt; because they did not continue in My Covenant, and I disregarded them, says the LORD.

For this is the Covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says the LORD: I will put My Laws in their mind and write them on their hearts; and I will be their God, and they shall be My People.

For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their lawless deeds

I will remember no more!     Jeremiah 31:31–34

.

Holy Spirit of the Living LORD, we PRAY in agreement with Your Word that we would:

Therefore BE merciful (filled with Mercy), just as your Father also is merciful (Fill with Mercy)!   Luke 6:36

Amen and Amen!
