Ladies and Gentlemen, there seems to be a great deal of our identity in our NAME!
But while he thought about these things, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying,
Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take to you Mary your wife, for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit.
And she will bring forth a Son, and you shall call His Name JESUS, for He will save His people from their sins.
So all this was done that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the Lord through the prophet, saying:
Behold, the virgin shall be with child, and bear a Son, and they shall call His Name Immanuel, which is translated, “God with us”!
Way back in the beginning of time when God Almighty gave the first man Adam the responsibility to NAME all of the animals that God had created, we noticed that the character and the nature of these species are summed up in their names.
So the LORD GOD formed from the ground all the wild animals and all the birds of the sky. He brought them to the man to see what he would call them, and the man chose a NAME for each one. He-Adam gave names to all the livestock, all the birds of the sky, and all the wild animals. Genesis 2:19-20
How Adam ever came up with Hippopotamus is still a mystery to me.
Holy Spirit of the Living LORD, we PRAY in agreement with Your Word that proclaims there is NO OTHER NAME under Heaven given among men by which we must be SAVED than CHRIST JESUS our Lord and Savior!
