Let us pray today that JESUS will make Himself known to the millions who seem to have little, if any knowledge of the one whose birth we are about the celebrate.  Many know about Him, but do not know Him in a personal way.

Lord Jesus, we pray that You would reveal Yourself to those who do not know you!   May WE  experience a birth of Faith in our hearts!  A kind of “Faith” that is more than a mental acceptance of a historical fact.  May this BE a “Faith” that knows the “Truth” and sets people free from the bondage of ignorance.  We pray this in the Blessed and Holy Name of our Lord Jesus, the Christ, the Son of the Living God!   Amen and Amen!

The scriptural reference for Today’s Prayer Alert is    Luke 2:9-11

And behold, an angel of the Lord stood before them, and the Glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were greatly afraid. Then the angel said to them, "Do not be afraid, for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy which will be to all people. For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.

And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying: "Glory to God in the highest, And on earth peace, goodwill toward men!" So it was, when the angels had gone away from them into heaven, that the shepherds said to one another, "Let us now go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has come to pass, which the Lord has made known to us. And they came with haste and found Mary and Joseph, and the Babe lying in a manger. Now when they had seen Jesus, they made widely known the saying which was told them concerning this Child. And all those who heard their witness accounts marveled at those events which were told them by the shepherds.

Then the shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the events that they had heard and seen, as it was told them by the eye witnesses.   Luke 2:9-20

Ladies and Gentlemen, we have the unique perspective of living AFTER the birth of Christ. The old testament law foretold of Messiah yet to come. The Good News of the new testament authors is that “The Word became flesh and dwelt among us! For the law was given through Moses, but Grace and Truth came through Jesus Christ!”  John 1:14-17

This evening, look into the night sky and know that all of the stars and planets that you can see were put in their place by the Authority and Provision of Almighty God, Who created Heaven and earth! Take a deep breath and know that from just TWO cells, your entire body was created! That the “Breath of God” was put into your lungs so that your heart and every cell of your body could function by the Divine Design. What a miracle that you can read the words on this page, on a computer, and understand that True God, became one of us – Emmanuel and shows us how to have a common union – communion with our Heavenly Father.

If it is at all possible, find a new born baby to kiss sometime this week and remember the words from the song:

Mary did you know that your baby boy is Lord of ALL CREATION?

Mary did you know that your baby boy has walked where angels trod?

And when you kiss your little baby, You’ve kissed the Face of God?
