In a recent nationwide survey of adults’ spiritual beliefs conducted by the Barna Group, suggest that Americans who consider themselves to be Christians have a diverse set of beliefs. Many of those beliefs are contradictory or at least inconsistent. The survey concluded that most professing Christians do NOT believe in Satan or the Holy Spirit.

Father in Heaven, we pray that those who call themselves Christians will READ and BELIEVE the Bible – that they would turn from their own understanding and seek You for the real Truth, because You always speak the Truth.  Amen and Amen!

The scriptural reference for Today’s Prayer Alert is   Ephesians 4:4-16

There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called in one hope of your calling; one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.

But to each one of us grace was given according to the measure of Christ's gift.

And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers, for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ, till we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ; that we should no longer be children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, in the cunning craftiness of deceitful plotting, but, speaking the truth in love, may grow up in all things into Him who is the head--Christ-- from whom the whole body, joined and knit together by what every joint supplies, according to the effective working by which every part does its share, causes growth of the body for the edifying of itself in love.    Ephesians 4:4-16

Most assuredly, I say to you, they who believe in Me {Jesus}, the works that I do they will do also; and greater works than these they will do, because I go to My Father. And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask anything in My name, I will do it. If you love Me, you naturally will keep My commandments.

And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever-- the Spirit of Truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you.

These things I have spoken to you while being present with you. But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My Name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you.

Peace I leave with you, My Peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you.

Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.      John 14:12-17 & 25-27
