Let us focus our prayers today on the people in the country of Haiti. News reports tell us that more than a 1,000 people have died from an outbreak of cholera. There are now reports of cholera cases in other Caribbean countries. The living conditions in Haiti are still horrific since the massive earthquake hit this island nation.

  • Upsurge in cases likely over next few days as a consequence of flooding caused by Hurricane Tomas
  • Eradication will take time, as cholera bacteria now has foothold in the river system
  • This water-borne disease has already spread to half of  Haiti’s 10 regions
  • Spread in Port-au-Prince likely to be extensive

Heavenly Father, hear the cry of Your People! We appeal to You Lord for help in these situations. You have ALL POWER and You have ALL AUTHORITY in Heaven and in the earth. We humbly pray that You would extend Your Mercies and Your Great Grace to those that are suffering in the nation of Haiti. Send forth Your ministering spirits to restore clear, clean, and uncontaminated WATERS to this island country. Lord we pray that the Spirit of the Living Lord would ‘heal the broken hearted” and “to comfort all who mourn”! Lord Jesus, we pray for the restoration of the nation of Haiti!

Make it so dear Lord, make it so!

The scriptural reference for Today’s Prayer Alert is  Isaiah 61:1-4

The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon Me, because the LORD has anointed Me to preach good tidings to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to those who are bound; To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD, and the day of vengeance of our God; To comfort all who mourn, to console those who mourn in Zion, to give them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; That they may be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that He may be Glorified.

And they shall rebuild the old ruins, they shall raise up the former desolations, and they shall repair the ruined cities, which was the desolations of many generations.

Amen and Amen!
