The Power of God is released through Worship!  Jehoshaphat knew who his Command-in-Chief was and he trusted the Lord God to provide victory over all his enemies. How much faith does it take to send the church choir to the front line of battle against the armed enemies?

And he said, "Listen, all you of Judah and you inhabitants of Jerusalem, and you, King Jehoshaphat! Thus says the LORD to you: 'Do not be afraid nor dismayed because of this great multitude, for the battle is not yours, but God's. You will not need to fight in this battle. Position yourselves, stand still and see the salvation of the LORD, Who is with you, O Judah and Jerusalem!' Do not fear or be dismayed; tomorrow go out against them, for the LORD is with you."  And Jehoshaphat bowed his head with his face to the ground, and all Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem bowed before the LORD, worshiping the LORD. So they rose early in the morning and went out into the Wilderness of Tekoa; and as they went out, Jehoshaphat stood and said, "Hear me, O Judah and you inhabitants of Jerusalem: Believe in the LORD your God, and you shall be established; believe His prophets, and you shall prosper." And when he had consulted with the people, he appointed those who should sing to the LORD, and who should praise the beauty of holiness, as they went out before the army and were saying: "Praise the LORD, For His mercy endures forever." Now when they began to sing and to praise, the LORD set ambushes against the people of Ammon, Moab, and Mount Seir, who had come against Judah; and they were defeated.   2Chronicles 20:15-21

Ladies and Gentlemen, we do not always witness the spiritual war that is going on in the heavens. In times of conflicts we should be like Jehoshaphat and join with the great assembly, our local church congregation and Worship the Lord our God. Songs of the heart, that proclaim our Love of God, will usher in His very Presence. It is not about the choirs’ performance! Singing songs and hymns and spiritual songs, while making melodies in our heart is the beginning of worship. At a recent church service, the choir sang one song, the pastor stopped them near the end of that song and gave the altar call, not at the end of the service, but at the beginning. Twelve people came forward to make a public profession of faith. One of these new born souls began to sing a-cappella and the congregation joined in his singing without any music being played. The Presence of the Lord was so marvelous, wonderful and invigorating that we had a celebration. We were all witnesses to the JOY of the Lord.

Heavenly Father, We Worship You, because You are Worthy of all our praise and thanksgivings. As we enter into this season of giving thanks, let us remember the people that serve us in our military stations around this world. We are a country that is at war. However, we wrestle with an enemy that has sworn to kill us and our way of life. These radical Muslims want all Americans and all Jewish people to die. Not because of anything that we have done to them. They simply do not believe as we do and their eyes have been blinded to the truth and their conscience has been seared.

We must begin to see with our spiritual eyes the Divine Hedge of Protection that is around us, shielding us from the assaults of our enemies.

Lord Jesus, as we stand in the congregations of our local churches and synagogues, let us join together in songs proclaiming Your Goodness, Your Mercies, Your Faithfulness. Let us sing songs like “A Mighty Fortress is our God” and “Battle Hymn of the Republic” and “Our God is an Awesome God” and “Praise to the Lord, the Almighty, the King of Creation”

As we stand together in Your Presence, empower our prayers for our armies to have VICTORY over all our enemies. Set up ambushes against the Taliban and Al-Qaida and the tribal war lords that seek only to kill and destroy Your People. Establish Your Divine Hedge of Protection around all of our military members and their families while they are engaged in these physical wars.

Thanks be to God, Who gives us the Victory, through our Lord and Savior – Christ Jesus!

Amen and Amen!
