Let us focus our prayers today on what we are teaching our children!

Our children will emulate and replay every attitude and every action that we as adults give them as examples. Children hear us cursing, those same words come out of their mouths. Children see us getting dressed up in costumes and participating in satanic worship, drinking until we are drunk and kissing everyone else in the name of a Halloween Party, they might believe that is acceptable behavior.

We have the statistics that Americans will spend almost $50.00 per person on costumes, decorations, and candy while celebrating things about death, destruction, fear, and evil influences in this world.  Why in the world would anyone promote the things that we know are evil over the things we know are good and true?

Heavenly Father, these fall festivals should be a time of gathering in a HARVEST and celebrating the gifts we have been given as the fruit of our labors. We pray that we would teach our children the good things in life and not try to scare them nor frighten them.  Lord Jesus, we pray as parents & grandparents, aunts & uncles, bothers & sisters that we would share the LOVE of Christ and not teach children how to extort goodies from our neighbors. Help us all to be more Christ-like in everything that we SAY and in everything that we DO!  Amen and Amen!

The scriptural reference for Today’s Prayer Alert are these:

Above all else, guard your heart, for it is the wellspring of life. Proverbs 4:23

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him {not just on Sundays – Easter & Christmas} and He will make straight your paths.  Proverbs 3:5-7

A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart brings forth evil. For out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks.    Luke 6:45

But no man can tame the tongue. It is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison. With it we bless our God and Father, and with it we curse men, who have been made in the similitude of God.

Out of the same mouth proceed blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not to be so.  James 3:8-10

Let the words of my mouth and the meditations of my heart, Be Acceptable in Your Sight, Oh  LORD, my Strength and my Redeemer.  Psalms 19:14

Amen and Amen!
