Then the Lord your God will make you most prosperous in all the work of your hands and in the fruit of your womb, the young of your livestock and the crops of your land. The Lord will again delight in you and make you prosperous, just as He delighted in your fathers, if you obey the Lord your God and keep his commands and decrees that are written in this Book of the Law and turn to the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul.

Now what I am commanding you today is not too difficult for you or beyond your reach. It is not up in heaven, so that you have to ask, "Who will ascend into heaven to get it and proclaim it to us so we may obey it?" Nor is it beyond the sea, so that you have to ask, "Who will cross the sea to get it and proclaim it to us so we may obey it?"

No, the word is very near you; it is in your mouth and in your heart so you may obey it.

This day I call heaven and earth as witnesses against you that I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses. Now choose life, so that you and your children may live and that you may love the Lord your God, listen to His voice, and hold fast to Him. For the Lord is your life, and he will give you many years in the land he swore to give to your fathers, Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.   Deuteronomy 30:9-20

Ladies and Gentlemen, it is a matter of the heart that is at the center of our relationship with Jesus!

A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart brings forth evil. For out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks.    Luke 6:45

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding;  Proverbs 3:5

Above all else, guard your heart, for it is the wellspring of life. Proverbs 4:23

Heavenly Father, we have been too wasteful with the Words that You have given us. We have been too careless with the attitudes of our hearts. We have spoken in haste, without thinking about the effect our words will have on the person to whom we are speaking. We have pronounced “curses” instead of “Blessings”! We have criticized instead of encouraging. We have caused hurts instead of healings.

Almighty God, have Mercy upon us! I am a man of unclean lips. Create in me a clean heart Oh, Lord and renew a right spirit within me. Let me abide in Your Presence and do not take Your Holy Spirit away from me, Lord!

Let the words of my mouth and the meditations of my heart always BE acceptable in Your Sight, Oh Lord, my strength and my Redeemer. Let me SAY what Jesus would say about every situation in my life. Change my mind about the news reports on television from “my limited opinions” to ask “What would the Lord God, think about that?”

Help us all dear Lord, to guard our hearts, limit our intake, stop repeating bad news and bad information and only speak the words that Jesus spoke. Think about what Jesus would SAY and DO, then go and DO likewise!  Be like Jesus today!

Amen and Amen!
