Then a dispute arose among them as to which of them would be greatest. And Jesus, perceiving the thought of their heart, took a little child and set him by Him, and said to them, "Whoever receives this little child in My Name receives Me; and whoever receives Me receives Him who sent Me. For he who is least among you all will be great."    Luke 9:46-48

Ladies and Gentlemen, what is your idea of a “public servant”?

Imagine for a moment what you perceive as the role or the duties of policemen, firemen, or medical personnel in hospitals and clinics. These “guardians” of us all are for the benefit of what we believe are the laws of the land and our personal protection.  We trust these people to help us in our times of need. These men and women work for us all without discriminating against any of us.

Jesus gave His followers an example of a “little child”, who without question “trusts” the adults around him/her to help him/her and take care of him/her.  Total FAITH, limitless HOPE and unconditional LOVE are what most children have in their lives until about the ages of 7-8-9.

Jesus is teaching us to have total faith in Him, limitless hope in His Divine Intervention into our lives, and to share His unconditional Love for one another and all of His Creation. Imagine how much JOY there is in Heaven, whenever one of God’s children says without prompting – I LOVE YOU JESUS!

Heavenly Father, we are Your Children! We were created by You before the foundations of the world. You know each of us from the time in our mother’s womb. You know the number of hairs on our very head. Most important of all, You know our heart! You know the attitude of my heart! You know the song in my heart! There is nothing about my life that is hid from You Lord!

I TRUST YOU LORD to take care of this situation . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

Lord Jesus, we lift up in prayer all of those people who serve Your Kingdom as police officers, fire fighters, medical personnel, and those who are engaged in military operations around the world. We pray for Your Divine Protection from all harm and all forms of evil that will try to come against them. (Psalm 91)  Lord, You know that with every “public servant” there is a family associated with that person. We pray Your manifold Blessings would be on each and every one of our family members.

We ask that every “public servant” that knows You would be given the opportunity to share Your unconditional love and be a witness to the power of Almighty God in the lives of all the people they contact on a daily basis.

Lord, Your Word encourages us like this;  Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in Heaven.    Matthew 5:16

Let everything that we SAY today and everything that we DO today, let it be done for the Glory, and the Honor and the Blessings of the Lord our God!

You have washed my feet, Lord and I will obey Your Word “to wash one another’s feet” John 13:14

Amen and Amen!
