Who will believe a “good” report?  Ladies and Gentlemen, we are a people that seem to be starving for Good News! Today’s news media seems to be about crisis after crisis after crisis. Here is a small example of some good news today:

Engineers that have been battling the Gulf Oil Spill are confident that the cap over the rogue well is strong enough that they may be able to plug it by pumping mud inside, thus bringing an end to the three month disaster, said British Petroleum and Coast Guard officials.

How many people do you know that have been PRAYING that Almighty God would intervene and stop these millions of gallons of oil from leaking into the Gulf waters?  Our government leaders have been helpless with any ideas or actions and no appropriate response to citizens requests for help. However, notice how the rhetoric changed in the news reports from BP’s problem, BP’s responsibility, BP’s fault, to now stating that “We” are optimistic, “We” are hopeful, “We” are monitoring the progress, “We” are administering BP’s compensation fund to pay for lost incomes for the people in the Gulf area.

Heavenly Father, we THANK YOU LORD, for Your Goodness and Mercies towards us. We THANK YOU for Your Answers to all of our prayers. Forgive us for not seeking FIRST Your Ways of solving our problems and crisis.  Forgive us for trusting in our government leaders to help us and provide for us, when we all know that our real source of Faith, our only Hope, and our greatest Love is in Christ Jesus our Lord and Savior!  Amen and Amen!

The scriptural reference for Today’s Prayer Alert is  Philippians 4:4-9

Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I will say, rejoice!

Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the Peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things.

The things which you learned and received and heard and saw in me, these do, and the God of Peace will be with you.

Ladies and Gentlemen, we believe that the power of prayer is self-evident. So many of us in the past have prayed – God, do something!  Our Heavenly Father looks at us, His Children and responds – you SAY something!

Life and death are in the power of the tongue! We can speak Blessings or curses! We can speak the truth or we can speak lies. We can talk about things that are noble, we can proclaim what is just and that right way of doing things. God’s Word states that:

A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart brings forth evil. For out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks.  Luke 6:45

Lord Jesus, we ask in the authority of Your Name that the moratorium on drilling in the Gulf waters be lifted. Government intervention and government intrusion into the lives and the livelihoods of our citizens has got to be stopped. Deliver us Oh Lord, from the bondage of government programs that are meant to harm us and take away our freedoms.

Lord Jesus, we ask in the authority of Your Name that the lawsuit by the Department of Justice against the State of Arizona be dismissed and all of the unjustified lawsuits against police officers and border patrol agents be dismissed for lack of evidence and closed. Illegal immigrants have no civil rights in this country. They are “illegal” and we cannot continue to call something “evil” as “good”.

Lord Jesus, HEAL OUR LAND we pray!   Amen and Amen!
