Do you know that our words spoken have creative powers? The Bible reads that Death and Life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruit. Proverbs 18:21

A new survey recently discovered that people generally believe that there is too much “swearing” and “profanity” on Television programming and young people today are suffering from this bad influence. It is amazing that so many people have such a limited vocabulary.

Heavenly Father, we know that anger words spoken in haste become sour and distasteful very quickly. Show us how to guard our lips Lord, and let no unclean words come out of my mouth. Help me always think about what I am saying, BEFORE I speak these words into existence.

Let the words of mouth and the mediations of my heart always BE acceptable in Your sight, Oh Lord my strength and my redeemer. Psalms 19:14

Amen and Amen!

The scriptural reference for Today’s Prayer Alert is  James 3:4-10

Look also at ships: although they are so large and are driven by fierce winds, they are turned by a very small rudder wherever the pilot desires. Even so the tongue is a little member and boasts great things. See how great a forest a little fire kindles! And the tongue is like a fire, in a world of iniquity. The tongue is so set among our members that it defiles the whole body, and sets on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire by hell.

For every kind of beast and bird, of reptile and creature of the sea, is tamed and has been tamed by mankind. But no man can tame the tongue. It is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison. With it we bless our God and Father, and with it we curse men, who have been made in the {image or} similitude of God.

Out of the same mouth proceed blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not to be so.

Ladies and Gentlemen, we have this unique ability to paint a word picture by the power of our tongue. We can speak Blessings into people’s lives. We know that just the sound of our voice can soothe the hearts and minds of small animals and children. We can encourage one another with these words. We can meditate on the words of my mouth. We believe that out of the abundance of my heart, that my mouth speaks. We must all keep His Commandments to NOT Lie, to NOT give false testimony, to NOT kill the spirit of another with hate filled anger words and curses. Whenever you have been the victim of lies and false rumors, you realize how those emotions have perplexed your thoughts and dominated your behavior.

We can speak to the storms in our lives, just like Jesus says, “Peace, BE STILL!”

We have all of Heaven’s undivided attention whenever we whisper His Name!

Amen and Amen!
