An estimated 250 million Christians have participated in globe gatherings in their own countries for the Global Day of Prayer this past Pentecost Sunday in 2010. This joining together for PRAYER was sounded from Cape Town, South Africa some ten years ago and has been celebrated by all denominations around the world.

When the Day of Pentecost had fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven, as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting. Then there appeared to them divided tongues, as of fire, and one sat upon each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

Heavenly Father, we need Your Supernatural Divine Intervention in our lives TODAY! We need Your Miracles to show this world that Almighty God is still ruling and reigning in our lives. We have ignored Your Presence in our lives for far too long. We have failed to “Love one another” as You command us to do. The hour has come when the true worshipers of God will worship Him in Spirit and Truth!

Lord Jesus, we as a nation REPENT and turn from our wicked ways and humbly ask the You would hear our prayers from Heaven and HEAL OUR LAND!  Father God, we humbly ask that You would STOP the oil leaking into the Gulf of Mexico. We turn to You and pray that all of the oil from the contaminated areas along the shoreline of our states be cleansed. Never-the-less it is ultimately not what we want to have happen In this matter. It is ALWAYS – Thy WILL BE DONE!

This we ask of the Father, believing in the Son, by the power of the Holy Spirit – ONE GOD now and forever more!  Amen and Amen!

The scriptural reference for Today’s Prayer Alert is   2Chronicles 7:14-16

If My people who are called by My Name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My Face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from Heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land. Now My Eyes will be open and My Ears attentive to prayer made in this place. For now I have chosen and sanctified this House {of Prayer}, that My Name may be there forever; and My Eyes and My Heart will be there perpetually.

Ladies and Gentlemen, Peter’s first sermon begins:

Men of Israel, hear these words: Jesus of Nazareth, a Man attested by God to you by miracles, wonders, and signs which God did through Him in your midst, as you yourselves also know—

This Jesus God has raised up, of which we are all witnesses. Therefore being exalted to the right hand of God, and having received from the Father the promise of the Holy Spirit, He poured out this which you now see and hear. "Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly that God has made this Jesus, whom you crucified, both Lord and Christ."

Now when they heard this, they were cut to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, "Men and brethren, what shall we do?"

Then Peter said to them, "Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. For the promise is to you and to your children, and to all who are afar off, as many as the Lord our God will call."

Then those who gladly received his word were baptized; and that day about three thousand souls were added to them. And they continued steadfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and in prayers.

We pray that we are like the first century church, full of power and proclaiming God’s Word with Authority.

Amen and Amen!
