A group of students at Trinity University in Texas wants to have the words “In the Year of our Lord” removed from their diplomas as reported in the Houston Chronicle – March 29, 2010.

"A diploma is a very personal item, and people want to proudly display it in their offices and homes,” Sidra Qureshi, president of Trinity Diversity Connection, told the Chronicle. “By having the phrase ‘In the Year of Our Lord,' it is directly referencing Jesus Christ, and not everyone believes in Jesus Christ."

So why would anyone that does NOT believe in Christ Jesus as Lord, attend a college that was established on Christian principles when “Founded in 1869, Trinity's name reflects its Christian origins and the three regional Cumberland Presbyterian governing bodies that supported its institutional organization. Over the past 140 years”    LINK = http://web.trinity.edu/x836.xml

Heavenly Father, it seems that all that is in our world is the lust of flesh, the lust of the eyes and the pride of life. How can these institutions of higher learning claim “there is no God!”? These things ought not to be so. Help us all Lord Jesus to seek FIRST the Kingdom of God and Your Righteousness – Your Right Way of Living for our daily lives. Thy Kingdom established in my life today and Thy Divine Purpose be done in and through my life on earth, just as it is in Heaven!

Amen and Amen!

The scriptural reference for Today’s Prayer Alert is  1John 2:14-29

I have written to you, fathers, because you have known Him who is from the beginning. I have written to you, young men, because you are strong, and the Word of God abides in you, And you have overcome the wicked one. Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world--the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life--is not of the Father but is of the world. And the world is passing away, and the lust of it; but he who does the ”will” of God abides forever.

Who is a liar but he who denies that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist who denies the Father and the Son. Whoever denies the Son does not have the Father either; he who acknowledges the Son has the Father also. Therefore let that abide in you which you heard from the beginning. If what you heard from the beginning abides in you, you also will abide in the Son and in the Father. And this is the promise that He has promised us--eternal life.

And now, little children, abide in Him, that when He appears, we may have confidence and not be ashamed before Him at His coming. If you know that He is Righteous, you know that everyone who practices righteousness is born of Him.

Ladies and Gentlemen Lord Jesus help us all to seek FIRST the Kingdom of God and Your Righteousness – Your Right Way of Living for our daily lives. Thy Kingdom established in my life today and Thy Divine Purpose be done in and through my life on earth, just as it is in Heaven!

Amen and Amen!
