The first Thursday of May has been designated by Congress as a National Day of Prayer”! Some people are calling for a national day of REPENTANCE for our national sins that we continue to commit. We understand from news reports that our President has chosen NOT to issue a proclamation regarding this day of prayer because he does not want to “offend people of other faiths and non-believers.”

Heavenly Father, We pray that You would FORGIVE our SINS and You Lord would HEAL OUR LAND!  We pray this knowing that we do not deserve any extension of Your Mercies. We have rewarded laziness and called it welfare. We have neglected to discipline our children and called it building self esteem. We have abused power and called it politics. We have killed our unborn and call it choice. We have Praised Almighty God and have totally forgotten the Jewish peoples and abandoned the nation of Israel as an ally! Have Mercy upon us all, most Merciful Father in Heaven.

Amen and Amen!

The scriptural reference for Today’s Prayer Alert is   Matthew 10:32-33

Therefore whoever confesses Me before men, him I will also confess before My Father who is in Heaven. But whoever denies Me before men, him I will also deny before My Father who is in Heaven.

He who receives you receives Me, and he who receives Me receives Him who sent Me. He who receives a prophet in the name of a prophet shall receive a prophet's reward. And he who receives a righteous man in the name of a righteous man shall receive a righteous man's reward. And whoever gives one of these little ones only a cup of cold water in the name of a disciple, assuredly, I say to you, he shall by no means lose his reward.

Ladies and Gentlemen, we have this confidence among us.

You therefore, my sons and my daughters, be strong in the Grace that is in Christ Jesus. And the things that you have heard from me among many witnesses, commit these to faithful men {people} who will be able to teach others also. You therefore must endure hardship as a good soldier of Jesus Christ. And also if anyone competes in athletics, he is not crowned unless he competes according to the rules. The hardworking farmer must be first to partake of the crops. Consider what I say, and may the Lord give you understanding in all things.

This is a faithful saying: For if we died with Him, We shall also live with Him. If we endure, We shall also reign with Him. If we deny Him, He also will deny us. If we are faithless, He remains faithful; He cannot deny Himself. Remind them of these things, charging them before the Lord not to strive about words to no profit, to the ruin of the hearers. Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. But shun profane and idle babblings, for they will increase to more ungodliness. And their message will spread like cancer.

Nevertheless the solid foundation of God stands, having this seal: "The Lord knows those who are His," and, "Let everyone who names the name of Christ depart from iniquity.”  2Timothy 2:1-19

Amen and Amen!
