This is the fifth day of Holy Week. Jesus and His Disciples met together in the upper room to share His last Passover meal together. Jesus said “One of you will betray me”. Imagine being with Jesus daily for three years and witnessing the miracles and hearing Him say that one of you is regretting your actions and has sold Jesus out for personal gain. Judas Iscariot had been walking with Jesus since the beginning of Christ’s ministry on earth.

Heavenly Father, we can see how it is possible to walk with Jesus and not really believe Him to be Messiah, the Son of God - Emmanuel! We have this grave concern that there are many people in the Church today who say that they walk with Jesus and do NOT KNOW HIM. Open the eyes of our hearts. Open our minds to this understanding of who Christ Jesus really is and what He has already done for each one or us.  Amen and Amen!

The scriptural reference for Today’s Prayer Alert is Matthew 26:17-23

So the disciples did as Jesus had directed them; and they prepared for the Passover meal. When evening had come, He sat down with the twelve disciples. Now as they were eating, He said, "Assuredly, I say to you, one of you will betray Me." And they were exceedingly sorrowful, and each of them began to say to Him, "Lord, is it I?" Then Judas, who was betraying Him, answered and said, "Rabbi, is it I?" He said to him, "You have said it."

And as they were eating, Jesus took bread, He blessed it and He broke it, and He gave it to the disciples and said, "Take, eat; this is My Body." Then He took the cup, and He gave thanks, and He  gave it to them, saying, "Drink from it, all of you. For this is My Blood of the New Covenant, which is shed for many for the remission of sins. But I say to you, I will not drink of this fruit of the vine from now on until that day when I drink it new with you in My Father's Kingdom."

Ladies and Gentlemen, we need to ask ourselves – Have we betrayed Jesus? Has there been a time that we have denied Him as Lord of our lives?  Have we ever spoken about the evil that we have done, as if it were good?

This concept of communion with Jesus is of paramount importance. Our common union is by faith because Jesus says that unless you eat My Body and drink My Blood, you have no life within you.

Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting life. I AM that Bread of Life. Your fathers did eat manna in the wilderness, and are dead. This is the bread which cometh down from heaven, that a man may eat thereof, and not die.

I am the living bread which came down from heaven: if any man eats of this bread, he shall live for ever: and the bread that I will give is My Flesh, which I will give for the Life of the world.

The Jews therefore strove among themselves, saying, How can this man give us His Flesh to eat? Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except ye eat the Flesh of the Son of man, and drink His Blood, ye have no life in you. Whosoever eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, hath eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day.

(King James Version) John 6:47-69

We no longer have to sacrifice sheep to atone for our sins. Christ Jesus our Lord, shed His precious Blood once for all. If the blood of a lamb on the door posts of the houses of a nation of people can protect them from the destroyer (angel of death) then HOW MUCH MORE will the Blood of the Lamb of God – take away the sins of the world?

Come to the table that He’s prepared for you – The Bread of Forgiveness – The Wine of Release!
