Today's Prayer Alert 02-23-2010

Many modern day prophets have made statements like, “If God does not judge America, He will have to apologize to Sodom and Gomorrah.” They proclaim that we are guilty of the very same sins that caused God to destroy those cities. It seems that our nation’s leaders are following similar patterns of selfish pride and arrogance that is unlike any others before. They are ignoring God’s Ways of doing things and everyone seems to be doing what they think is “right” in their own eyes.

Heavenly Father, we know that because of the completed work of Your Son – Christ Jesus our Lord and Savior, we will not face the same destruction as Sodom & Gomorrah. It is because of our relationship and faith in Jesus, that we come boldly to the Throne of Grace and not receive the judgments that violating Your Laws require. All sin leads to death and separation from God. However, we have God’s Promise, that when we turn from our wicked ways, humble ourselves and PRAY. Then God will hear from Heaven, forgive our sins and HEAL OUR LAND!   Amen and Amen!

The scriptural reference for Today’s Prayer Alert is    1John 2:1-6

My dear children, I write this to you so that you will not sin. But if anybody does sin, we have one who speaks to the Father in our defense-Jesus Christ, the Righteous One. He {Jesus} is the Atoning Sacrifice for all our sins, and not only for ours but also for the sins of the whole world. We know that we have come to know Him if we obey His commands. The man who says, "I know him," but does not DO what He commands is a liar, and the truth is not in him. But if anyone obeys His Word, God's LOVE is truly made complete in him. This is how we know we are in Him:  Whoever claims to live in Him and abide in Him must walk exactly as Jesus did in true obedience to the Father.

Ladies and Gentlemen we need men and women who will put Almighty God FIRST PRIORITY in their lives, just as our founding fathers did almost 230 years ago. We believe that God’s Blessings are on America, not because of anything that we today have done, but because our Lord keeps His Word. His Word is True and His Promises are FOREVER! How many times do we read this same cycle in the Bible of the People of God, crying out to God for help, knowing that their enemies are about to destroy them; God answers their prayers and supernaturally wipes out all of those against them; only to have these same people ignore God’s Laws and God’s Ways of doing things.

Jesus Christ came into this world to break this cycle. Jesus is the Reason that we can have a relationship with Almighty God! See what kind of LOVE the Father has for us, that He did NOT spare His only Son. God TRUSTED Him to obey and keep His Word. Jesus had the “heart of God” and Jesus shows us how we ought to LOVE one another.

How about you? Can the Living Resurrected Lord Jesus, trust you to keep His Word? Will you pray for the soul of that lost family member? Is it possible for you to forgive ALL of those people who spitefully use you? Will you seek first the Kingdom of God and His Righteousness – right way of doing things? Will you speak Blessings and not curses today?

Will you remember that Greater is He that is in you, than any of the demons that are in this world!

As for me and my household, we will serve the Lord!
