Today's Prayer Alert 02-11-2010

Several years ago a brother in Australia by the name of Desmond Higgs was called by the Lord to raise up 10,000 men who would pray for the government which at that time was very corrupt. Many members of parliament had been in power for a long, long time. As those men came into an agreement in prayer, some incredible things began to happen. Desmond instructed these men to pray; “Lord, improve them or remove them”.  We believe that they should IMPROVE to Your Way of thinking or that they would be REMOVED from the office that they now hold.

Heavenly Father, we pray in the same manner as those men in Australia prayed, day after day. Lord Jesus, You know these peoples’ hearts and minds, we do not know what they may think or believe. We trust You Almighty God to discern their ways and we pray IMPROVE them or Lord, REMOVE them from the position in government that they now hold. Hear our cry Oh Lord Most High – Thy Kingdom come, Thy Will BE Done on earth, exactly as it is in Heaven!  Amen and Amen!

The scriptural reference for Today’s Prayer Alert is   Luke 6:27-31 & 36-38

But I say to you who hear: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, and pray for those who spitefully use you.

And just as you want men to do to you, you also should do to them likewise, in the same manner.

Therefore be merciful, just as your Heavenly Father also is Merciful. Judge not, and you shall not be judged. Condemn not, and you shall not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven. Give {your time, focused attention, prayerful considerations}, and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be put into your bosom. For with the same measure that you use, it will be measured back to you.

Ladies and Gentlemen, it is very important to Almighty God and our relationship with Him, just how we speak to and treat all of our brothers and sisters on this earth. When our elected representatives are abusing our trust and setting themselves up to make us all totally dependent upon them instead of the Lord our God, those people will have to answer to the Spirit of the Living Lord Jesus!

It is NOT my purposes nor my will that needs to be done by the Congress. God’s Sovereignty does NOT depend on who is President of the United States. God knows what is going on in the closed door sessions of Congress. God knows about the bribes for votes and the total disregard for the legislative process by the leaders of Congress. I can trust Him to take care of all these events.

We have witnessed the powerful demonstration of answered prayer, when one elected representative from the State of Massachusetts changed the entire political agenda in Washington DC. Now the Democrats must “reason with” the Republicans in Congress to get any legislation passed and appointments made to key positions. The balance of political power has been restored. However, we should all pray more earnestly and consistently for men and women in every position of government service to recognize the Supreme Authority of Almighty God!

We need a Spiritual Awakening to seek FIRST the Kingdom of God and His Righteous Way of doing things and declare – Thy Kingdom come, be established in every area of my life. Thy Will BE DONE on earth, just as it is in Heaven.
