Ladies and Gentlemen, let us consider the importance of the words “I promise you . . . . . “

Whether it is a child, a business colleague, or even your spouse, whenever we utter these words we must do everything we possibly can do to accomplish our stated purpose.  Every relationship that is worth having is based on honesty, integrity, and commitment.  We must be in agreement even in our prayers with one another.

Please review the oath of office for our people enlisting in each branch of the military:

"I, (state name), do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; and that I will obey the orders of the President of the United States and the orders of the officers appointed over me, according to regulations and the Uniform Code of Military Justice. So help me God."

Consider this concept of making a covenant contract that reflects the supreme sacrifice of one’s very life in order to fight and protect the freedoms of people that you may not even know. Whether it is a soldier, sailor, airman, Marine, special forces, reservists, and every person in the line of duty would knowingly defend with their lives the people in our nation. The affirmation of our “Declaration of Independence” states this best:

And for the support of this Declaration, with a firm reliance on the protection of Divine Providence, we mutually pledge to each other our lives, our fortunes, and our sacred honor.

Heavenly Father, we know that You Commissioned Your own Son to die for us. We know that Christ Jesus our Lord paid the extreme price for ALL of my sins and the corruptible desires of my selfish heart. Jesus’ willingness to lay down His very Life has provided Atonement and reconciled our existence into a relationship with You – FOREVER!

Father God, we pray today that You would hold our military personnel and their families in Your Loving Hands. Send forth Your Ministering Spirits to cover them, bless them, preserve, protect and defend the people of our nation against all the assaults of our enemies both foreign and domestic. By FAITH we believe that Your Divine Providence established this nation and Your Love has sustained us for almost 300 years. Thanks BE to GOD, who gives us the Victory, through our Lord Jesus Christ! Amen and Amen!

The scriptural reference for Today’s Prayer Alert is  John 15:9-17

As the Father loved Me, I also have loved you; abide in My Love. If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My Love, just as I have kept My Father's commandments and abide in His Love.  These things I have spoken to you, that My JOY may remain in you, and that your joy may be full.

This is My commandment, that you love one another as I have Loved you. Greater Love has no one than this, than to lay down one's life for his friends. You are My friends if you do whatever I command you. No longer do I call you servants, for a servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all things that I heard from My Father I have made known to you. You did not choose Me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should remain, that whatever you ask the Father in My Name He may give you.  These things I command you, that you love one another.

Amen and Amen!
