Let us focus our prayers on the people of Haiti, who continue to suffer from the devastation of last week’s earthquake. Distribution of food and water is being escalated to those that need it most. Emotions are being distorted by sorrow and grief that may lead to anger and violence.

Heavenly Father, we pray that any people who are still alive and trapped in the rubble – will be found today! Father God, You know the condition of each and every soul that is in this desperate situation. Cast the shadow of Your Hand of Grace, Your Mercy, and Your Peace to cover every moment of every person in this crisis today. Multiply resources like You did in feeding 5,000 men and their families in the Bible.

Lord Jesus, we pray that Your Peace that surpasses all of our understanding would rule and reign in the hearts and minds of all the people that are now in the country of Haiti.  Amen and Amen!

The scriptural reference for Today’s Prayer Alert is  Job 1:18-22

While he was still speaking, another {servant} also came and said, "Your sons and daughters were eating and drinking wine in their oldest brother's house, and suddenly a great wind came from across the wilderness and struck the four corners of the house, and it fell on the young people, and they are all dead; and I alone have escaped to tell you!" Then Job arose, tore his robe, and shaved his head; and he fell to the ground and worshiped. And he said: "Naked I came from my mother's womb, and naked shall I return there. The LORD gave, and the LORD has taken away; Blessed be the Name of the LORD." In all this Job did not sin nor charge God with wrong.

Ladies and Gentlemen, the example of Job and how he responded to total devastation in his life is a lesson that we should all remember. Almighty God, creator of Heaven and earth actually trusted Job enough to allow the devil to have power over him (Job 1:12) knowing that in Job’s heart that he would never blame or accuse God for his crisis.

So a question we might ask ourselves is – If I were in Haiti right now, what would I do?

Would I question God’s Sovereignty or ask God Why so much death and destruction?

Would I beg God to take me home and end my personal suffering?

I can do what Job did and PRAY for my friends, my neighbors, my brothers and sisters in Christ! (Job 42:10-17 The Lord gave Job twice as much as he had before)

I can stand and lift up holy hands without wrath (I am not anger at anybody) and without malice (I have forgiven all those who have offended me) and WORSHIP the Lord our God in Spirit and in Truth.

Lord Jesus, it does not matter what I think should be happening in Haiti. It only matters what You want done in the earth. My desire is to come into agreement with Your Divine Purpose and Your Way of doing things on earth, just as it is in Heaven.  Never-the-less not my will, but THY WILL BE DONE!

Amen and Amen!
