Ladies and Gentlemen, let us consider the importance of the words “I promise you . . . . . “

Whether it is a child, a business colleague, or even your spouse, whenever we utter these words we must do everything we possibly can do to accomplish our stated purpose.  Every relationship that is worth having is based on honesty, integrity, and commitment.  We must be in agreement even in our prayers with one another.

On this day, sixty three years ago, I made a promise to the girl of my dreams. She has been my constant companion and I am happy to say that I still love her. Yes indeed, some marriages are made in Heaven. We learned early on in our relationship that harsh words really do “hurt”.  They seem to hurt women a lot more than men.  We have learned how to “hold our tongue” in many situations, because once my words are spoken, its impact is always felt by the person that hears my words.

Heavenly Father, I want to publically THANK YOU for my precious spouse. Let me BE the kind of person that she needs.  When I took her hand and solemnly promised to always love her and forsaking all others, to keep her only as my wife, and I know that I have kept this promise.  Lord Jesus, You know my heart and I know that Your Word is TRUE and Your Promises are FOREVER! Thank You Lord, for the wife of my youth, the love our children, and our grandchildren and even our great grandchildren. My quiver is full and I am a wealthy man indeed!  Amen and Amen!

The scriptural reference for Today’s Prayer Alert is  Genesis 2:18 & 21-23

And the LORD God said, "It is not good that man should be alone; I will make him a helper comparable to him."

And the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall on Adam, and he slept; and He took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh in its place. Then the rib which the LORD God had taken from man He made into a woman, and He brought her to the man. And Adam said: "This is now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; She shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man."

Assuredly, I say to you, whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven. Again I say to you that if two of you agree on earth concerning anything that they ask, it will be done for them by My Father in Heaven. For where two or three are gathered together in My Name, I am there in the midst of them.

Amen and Amen!
