Let us focus our prayers today on the Church in America!

We read in the Bible how the first century “church” people were a multitude that believed Christ Jesus was resurrected from death by crucifixion and was seen by hundreds, if not thousands before ascending towards Heaven in the clouds. We read that Jesus asked Thomas to feel His scares, and touch the wound in His side. Jesus asked for some fish to eat. At the beginning of His ministry, Jesus stood in the synagogue and read from the prophet Isaiah a description of His commission and told this local assembly of Jewish people that “TODAY, this scripture is fulfilled in your hearing.” Luke 4:21

Of all the written scriptures in the Torah, why were these particular verses spoken?

Heavenly Father, Almighty God, You have created each one of us for Your Divine Purpose!  There is a mandate on our lives! Every one of our lives has been prophesized over. We know that Your Word is TRUE and Your Word will ALWAYS accomplish the purpose for which it was sent!  We must get into agreement with Your Word for our lives. We have received Your Power from on high to BE exactly what You have created us TO BE. Show us how to be like Jesus today!  Empower each of us to proclaim with our mouth what we believe in our heart for the advancement of the Kingdom of God here on earth, exactly as it is in Heaven!  Amen and Amen!

The scriptural reference for Today’s Prayer Alert is  Luke 4:16-22

So He {Jesus} came to Nazareth, where He had been brought up. And as His custom was, He went into the synagogue on the Sabbath day, and stood up to read {the Torah, the written Word of God}. And He was handed the book of the prophet Isaiah. And when He had opened the book, He found the place where it was written:

The Spirit of the LORD is upon Me, Because He has anointed Me to preach the Gospel to the poor {in knowledge and understanding, not just financially lacking}; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted {in spirit, doubts and fears}, To proclaim liberty to the captives {all of those addicted to sin and slaves to this world’s ways} And recovery of sight to the blind {both physically and spiritually}, To set at liberty those who are oppressed {renew minds with the Truth by washing of the water of life and hearing by faith the Word of God}; To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD. {We are now subject to God’s Grace and not compliance to the written Law on tablets of stone. Our obedience is by willingness from a love like no other in our hearts for Him}

Then He closed the book, and gave it back to the attendant and sat down. And the eyes of all who were in the synagogue were fixed on Him. And He began to say to them,

"Today this Scripture is fulfilled in your hearing."

So all bore witness to Him, and marveled at the gracious words which proceeded out of His Mouth.

We should all be like Jesus and do the things that Jesus does and say the things that Jesus says!  Let the CHURCH ARISE and proclaim His TRUTH to everyone who will listen!

Amen and Amen!
