Let us focus our prayers today on NEW BEGINNINGS!

This is the start of a new week of a new year. Most of our calendars begin with Sunday as the first day of the week. This is good because we can worship Almighty God FIRST and give the Lord our God the FIRST FRUITS of all our increase. It has been said that God really does not need the monies that we give. After all HE IS the Creator of the Universe, would does He need with my Sunday tip?

Ladies and Gentlemen, please understand that it is the attitude of your heart towards our Heavenly Father that inspires each of us “to give”!  What kind of love would reject any gift given by a child? When our children make something on their own and say “Here, I made this for you!” what absolute JOY fills our soul with this gift from our child. We put these creations and their best efforts upon the refrigerator or hang them on a Christmas tree. Sometimes we carry them in our briefcase or purse simple because our child made it and gave it freely to us.

Heavenly Father, we know that EVERY GIFT we have comes from You!  Our monies have the phrase printed on the bills and embossed on each coin – IN GOD WE TRUST!  Remind us every time that we spend any monies to say this prayer – IN GOD WE TRUST!  We thank You Lord for all the monies that are in our pockets. We thank You Lord for all the monies we have in the banks.  We thank You Lord for the ability to gain wealth!  We thank You Lord that we can freely GIVE to You in Your House of Worship each and every Sunday morning.  Amen and Amen!

The scriptural reference for Today’s Prayer Alert is  2Corinthians 9:5-11

Therefore I thought it necessary to exhort the brethren to go to you ahead of time, and prepare your generous gift beforehand, which you had previously promised, that it may be ready as a matter of generosity and not as a grudging obligation. But this I say: He who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully.

So let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to make all of His Grace abound toward you, that you, always having all sufficiency in all things, may have an abundance for every good work. As it is written: "He has dispersed abroad, He has given to the poor; His righteousness endures forever." Psalm 112:9

Now may He who supplies seed to the sower, and bread for food, supply and multiply the seed you have sown and increase the fruits of your righteousness, while you are enriched in everything for all liberality, which causes thanksgiving through us to God.

Thanks be to God for His indescribable gift!

Amen and Amen!
